The mistake isn’t picking the wrong neighborhood. It’s treating each one as a separate day. Seoul’s most interesting districts sit two or three subway stops apart, and half of them are a walk from where you’re already standing — but only if you’re not towing 23 kilos behind you.

How to actually chain three of these in a day
Short answer — pick one walking-distance neighborhood, one at two-to-four stops, and end back at Hongdae where your bags and the airport train are.

What to rent instead of dragging it around all day
Neighborhood walking is where packing decisions get exposed. The back streets are narrow, the pavement is uneven, and a lot of doorways have a step.
- Stroller — full-size frames are a liability on Yeonnam’s and Mangwon’s back lanes. A compact rental folds into a café. Baby gear rentals
- Wheelchair or rollator — a walking day is 8–12 km whether you planned it or not. Renting one lets a parent do the whole route instead of half. Mobility rentals
- Hair styling tools — for the dinner at the end of the walk. Korea runs 220V/60Hz; if you’re coming from a 110V/50Hz country, a plug adapter alone won’t protect a non-dual-voltage device, and cordless styling tools with sealed batteries are refused by some airlines in both cabin and checked baggage.
