Long-Term Luggage Storage in Seoul for Students and Long-Stay Travellers: We Collect, Store for Weeks, and Deliver Somewhere Else

2026-10-01

Hongdae · Seoul · Long-stay storage

The message usually reads something like this: “My dorm contract ends on 19 December. My new room isn’t ready until the end of February, and I’m going home for the holidays in between. I have two suitcases and five boxes. Can you keep them, and bring them to the new place when I’m back?”

Yes. That is exactly what we do.

📦 Suitcases and moving boxes · 🗓️ A few days to several weeks · 🚚 Collected at one address, delivered to another

Short answer KPLANZ collects your suitcases and moving boxes from your room anywhere in Seoul or the greater metropolitan area, stores them for as long as you need — a few days to several weeks — at our staffed counter connected to Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3, and delivers them to a different address on the date you choose: a new room, a new dormitory, or Incheon Airport. Because every long-stay job differs in item count, size and duration, we quote each one individually — send us your item list, dates and both addresses for a free quote.

Lately, more and more of our storage requests come not from tourists on a three-day trip but from people who live in Seoul for a while: exchange students, language-school students, working-holiday visitors and long-stay travellers. Their problem is not a few hours between checkout and a flight. It is weeks, and two different addresses.

01Who this is for

The people whose stuff is between homes

Exchange students and university students. Dormitory contracts end with the semester. Korean university terms usually finish in mid-to-late December and late June, and the next semester starts in early March or early September — so for six to ten weeks, your things need somewhere to go.

Language-school students. Course terms, housing contracts and visa dates rarely line up. A gap of a few weeks between one room and the next is normal.

Working-holiday visitors and digital nomads. Moving from a goshiwon to an officetel, or between short leases, with more than will fit in a taxi boot.

Long-stay travellers using Seoul as a base. Leaving the big suitcase and the winter clothes in Seoul while you spend three weeks in Japan or Southeast Asia, then picking up where you left off.

People leaving Korea. The lease ends on the 10th, the flight is on the 18th. A week of living out of a backpack is fine — a week of hauling three suitcases and four boxes between guesthouses is not.

02Three common routes

Pick up here, deliver there

The thing that makes long-stay storage useful is that the pickup address and the delivery address do not have to be the same.

  1. Dorm → storage → new dorm or room

We collect when your contract ends, store everything over the break, and deliver to the new address when the next term begins. The most common route from November to February and from June to August.

  2. Room → storage → Incheon Airport

We collect when your lease ends, store for the days or weeks until departure, and meet you at the airport with your bags on the day you fly. You spend the last stretch in Seoul with a backpack.

  3. Room → storage → (you leave Korea) → new room on return

We collect before you go, keep everything while you are abroad, and deliver to your new accommodation after you land back in Seoul.

Mix and match. You can drop off at our counter yourself and have it delivered later, or have us collect and then pick it up yourself at Exit 3. Pickup and delivery cover Seoul and the greater metropolitan area, plus Incheon Airport.

03What you can store

Not just suitcases

Accepted:

  • Suitcases of any size
  • Moving boxes — taped shut and labelled
  • Duffel bags and backpacks
  • Bedding, duvets and pillows, packed in bags
  • Instruments and sports equipment in cases
  • Strollers and other bulky items

There is no fixed limit on the number of items. A dorm’s worth of boxes is a normal job.

Not accepted: perishable food, leaking liquids, hazardous or flammable goods, and anything illegal.

Keep with you: passports, residence cards, cash, jewellery and high-value electronics such as laptops and cameras. Our counter is staffed and monitored by CCTV, but these are things you should not be without for weeks — and they are not covered for storage.

04Packing for weeks, not hours

Six things to do before we collect

  1. Tape every box and number it — “1/6, 2/6…” with your name on each. It makes check-in and delivery fast, and nothing gets left behind.
  2. Photograph each item and keep a short list of what is in which box.
  3. Take out what you will need while your things are away: documents, medication, chargers, and the right season’s coat. Winter in Seoul arrives quickly.
  4. Keep boxes liftable. One person should be able to carry each box. Split books across several.
  5. Leave food out entirely, including sealed snacks — weeks in storage is not kind to it.
  6. Check the handover. Make sure someone will be at the pickup address in the agreed time window, and that someone can receive the delivery at the other end — for a dormitory, check its rules for deliveries and move-in day.

05How booking works

Send us five things and we come back with a quote

Message @kplanz.official on Instagram or email kplanz.official@gmail.com with:

  • Pickup: address, date and preferred time window
  • Items: number of suitcases (rough sizes) and number of boxes (rough sizes)
  • Storage period: from when to when — “not sure yet” is fine for the end date
  • Delivery: address, date and time window — or Incheon Airport with your flight time — or “I’ll collect at Exit 3”
  • Who hands over and who receives, if it is not you

On pricing: long-stay storage is quoted case by case. The number of items, their size, the length of storage and the distance between the two addresses all change the figure, so a single price list would be wrong for almost everyone. We reply with a quote, usually within a few hours, and quotes are free.

⚠️

Pickup and delivery must be arranged in advance. They need a vehicle and staff scheduled together. Give us at least one day — and as early as you can around semester ends, when every dormitory moves out in the same week. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00–17:00; weekend, holiday and after-hours pickup or delivery is possible by advance arrangement.

06Timing

The weeks that book out first

Late June and late December. Semester ends — dormitories empty at once, and so does every moving van in the city.

Late February and late August. The reverse: everyone moves back in before the new term.

The year-end holidays. Long-stay travellers leave Seoul for the holidays at the same time as tourists arrive. See Christmas and New Year’s week in Seoul.

If you know your move-out date, book the pickup now and settle the delivery date later.

07Where we are

A counter, not a locker

KPLANZ is connected directly to Hongik Univ. Station (Hongdae) Exit 3 on Line 2, the Airport Railroad and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line — which makes it easy to drop off or collect yourself, including on the way to or from Incheon Airport. Your items are received at a staffed counter, tagged and recorded, not left in a coin locker that empties itself after a day or two. Directions: visit us.
