🛒 About Renting with KPLANZ
What is the minimum rental period at KPLANZ?
The minimum rental period at KPLANZ is 2 nights and 3 days. We count by calendar dates, not 24-hour blocks — so even a late-night pickup counts as Day 1. Picking up earlier in the day gives you more usage time for the same price.
How do I reserve a rental item?
The fastest way is to send us a direct message on Instagram @kplanz.official or email kplanz.official@gmail.com. Include your travel dates, items you want to rent, and preferred pickup method. We usually reply within a few hours. Walk-ins are welcome, but stock changes frequently, so advance booking is strongly recommended — especially during cherry blossom season, summer holidays, and the fall travel peak.
Where is KPLANZ located?
KPLANZ is located at Hongdae Station, Exit 3, in central Seoul. Hongdae Station is served by Seoul Subway Line 2, the AREX Airport Railroad (direct from Incheon Airport), and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. It’s one of the most accessible rental pickup points for international travelers in Seoul.
How does the deposit work?
Every rental requires a refundable deposit, which is fully returned when you bring the item back in good condition. Deposit amounts vary by item (₩50,000 to ₩300,000).
- In-store pickup: card or cash accepted
- Delivery or airport pickup: cash deposit only
- Cash accepted in KRW or major foreign currencies (USD, EUR, JPY, CNY, etc.)
Can I pick up or return items outside business hours?
Pickup and return during business hours is the default. Outside business hours is possible by prior arrangement — please message us in advance to check availability. Late returns without notice are charged an additional 1-day rental fee.
What happens if an item is damaged or lost?
Minor wear from normal use is completely fine — we expect it. If an item is significantly damaged or lost, repair or replacement costs may be deducted from your deposit. We always walk through the item with you in person at return, so there are no surprise charges.
🍼 Baby Gear & Family Travel
Do I need a car seat for taxis in Korea?
Legally, children under 6 are required to use a child car seat in Korea. However, most regular Seoul taxis do not provide car seats. Kakao Taxi Kids and some premium taxi services offer car seats, but availability is limited. Many families rent a portable car seat for the duration of their trip — our SoonSung Billy Portable Car Seat is designed specifically for taxis and rental cars and can be carried between vehicles easily.
What baby gear can I rent at KPLANZ?
Our baby care lineup covers the essentials most families don’t want to fly with:
- Car seats — SoonSung Billy (portable, 9–25kg) and Joie Steadi R129 (newborn to 4 years)
- Strollers — RYAN Prime Lite (compact, 6.3kg) and Pomporra N2 (full-feature, reversible handle, 170° recline)
- Portable baby crib — BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light (Swedish-made, 6kg)
- UV bottle sterilizer — Upang UV-C LED sterilizer for bottles, dishes, toys
See the full baby care rental lineup here.
Is it worth renting baby gear instead of bringing my own?
For most trips of 3 days or more, yes. Airlines charge $50–100+ per bulky item each way (stroller, car seat), plus your own gear risks damage in transit. Renting a stroller and car seat for 5 days typically costs around ₩125,000 (~$90) — less than one-way baggage fees, with no risk to your own equipment and no bulky items to carry through airports.
Are KPLANZ car seats safety-certified?
Yes. The Joie Steadi meets the R129 (i-Size) European safety standard — one of the strictest car seat standards in the world. The SoonSung Billy is KC Certified, which is Korea’s mandatory safety certification for children’s products. All car seats are cleaned and inspected between rentals.
💆 Dyson & Beauty Care Rentals
Can I really rent Dyson hair tools in Seoul?
Yes. KPLANZ carries three Dyson models for daily rental:
- Dyson Airstrait Straightener — ₩10,000/day
- Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer — ₩10,000/day
- Dyson Airwrap Complete Long — ₩11,000/day
All units run on Korean 220V / 60Hz power. Perfect if you want salon-quality styling during your Seoul trip without packing bulky appliances — or buying one just for a vacation.
Will Dyson tools work in my hotel with a different plug?
Our Dyson units use Korean 220V / 60Hz with the Type F plug standard across Korea. They’ll work in any Korean hotel outlet without an adapter. If you’re traveling on to other countries after, note that these units are configured for Korea only — they’re meant for use during your Seoul stay.
Can I request a specific Dyson color?
Unfortunately no — colors are randomly assigned based on current stock. Specific color requests cannot be guaranteed. If this matters for your content or photos, please mention it when booking and we’ll do our best.
♿ Senior Care & Accessibility
Can I rent a wheelchair in Seoul for my elderly parent?
Yes. KPLANZ offers three mobility options:
- Folding Manual Wheelchair — ₩15,000/day, 11kg, supports up to 100kg
- Keeve KV-R2 Rollator — ₩21,000/day, 4-wheel walker with seat and brakes
- Rollz Motion 2 — ₩38,000/day, 2-in-1 rollator-wheelchair hybrid from the Netherlands
All units are foldable for easy transport in taxis, AREX trains, and subway elevators. See full senior care rentals here.
Is Seoul wheelchair-accessible for tourists?
Seoul’s major tourist areas are increasingly accessible, though older districts can be challenging. All Seoul subway stations now have elevators, AREX trains are fully accessible, and most major attractions (Gyeongbokgung, N Seoul Tower, COEX, Lotte World Mall) have wheelchair access. Older neighborhoods like Bukchon, Insadong, and parts of Hongdae have steeper streets and uneven sidewalks — a rollator may be easier than a wheelchair in those areas. Renting mobility equipment locally saves you the stress of flying with it.
✈️ Airport & Delivery Logistics
Do you offer airport pickup or delivery?
Yes, both are available. Delivery and airport pickup fees vary depending on your location, schedule, and the items rented. Please message us in advance for a quote. Many families find airport pickup especially useful for bulky items like car seats, strollers, and travel cribs — you can have everything waiting at the airport and travel directly to your accommodation without a subway transfer.
Can I rent at Incheon Airport directly?
KPLANZ’s main pickup location is at Hongdae Station, Exit 3. For travelers who prefer not to make the trip, we can arrange airport delivery or a meetup at Incheon (ICN) or Gimpo (GMP) by prior arrangement. This is a popular option for families with young children or travelers with mobility needs who want gear ready on arrival.
How do I return items if I’m flying out?
You have two options:
- Return in-store at Hongdae Exit 3 before heading to the airport
- Airport return — we can meet you at Incheon or Gimpo for return pickup (by arrangement, fees apply)
Please confirm your return plan when booking so we can schedule accordingly.
🇰🇷 Seoul Travel — General Questions
What’s the best area to stay in Seoul for first-time visitors?
Popular areas include Myeongdong (shopping and food, central), Hongdae (young, trendy, great nightlife, close to KPLANZ), Gangnam (modern, upscale), and Insadong (traditional culture, palaces nearby). Hongdae is particularly convenient for rental pickup and direct AREX access from Incheon Airport.
How much luggage is too much for a Seoul trip?
Seoul’s subway and taxi system handles medium-size luggage fine, but Seoul apartments and many mid-range hotels have limited room. For a 7-day trip, one medium suitcase plus a carry-on per person is typically plenty — especially if you plan to rent bulky items locally. We also offer group luggage storage for families and tour groups at our Hongdae location if you need a drop-off point between accommodations.
Is English widely spoken in Seoul?
English signage is widespread in subways, major tourist areas, and large department stores. In smaller restaurants and older neighborhoods, English may be limited but translation apps (Papago, Google Translate) work well. KPLANZ staff speaks English, Chinese, and basic Japanese — so language won’t be an issue during your rental experience.
What’s the best way to get from Incheon Airport to Hongdae?
The AREX Express Train goes directly from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to Hongdae Station (Hongik University Station) in about 45 minutes. All-stop AREX takes around 55 minutes but is cheaper. From Hongdae Station, KPLANZ is right at Exit 3. Taxi from ICN to Hongdae takes 50–80 minutes depending on traffic, and costs around ₩60,000–80,000.
